February VT Message Idea - Avoiding Debt

I found the following at Visiting Teaching Blog:

"The Visiting Teaching Message for February is "Managing Resources Wisely and Staying Out of Debt". I was really drawn to the last paragraph of the message, where it talks about how we need to exercise faith in the Savior to be better in sacrificing our wants in order to meet our own and others' needs."

What a cute project!  Does anyone want to get together and make some with me?  Add your comment and we'll set up a cottage meeting. :)

Here's the finished project . . .

How to Help the Haitians

Dear Sisters,

For all those in our Southeast area presidencies and those of the Lake City Florida Stake, I am sending out some information with regards to relief efforts in Haiti.  Sis Schroder of the Jacksonville cannery was informed by Atlanta to let you know that for now the way to help in the relief efforts for Haiti is to donate funds and mark fast offering/Haiti on your tithing form and those funds will be used to aid those currently assisting there at this time.  Right now, we aren't in need of service to make kits, blankets, etc., but if that changes we'll be sure to let you know. Thank you so much for your inquiries and efforts to help our brothers and sisters in another area.

Please remember them all in your prayers.

Thanks again,

Sis Jackie Britt

Sis. Orrock :)

Amanda Orrock had her baby this morning at 8am. She had to have a C-section. I was wondering if you could send out a general email to everyone letting them know and asking if anyone could provide meals for them. They should be home on Friday or Saturday. I am her Visiting Teacher and they can call or email me if anyone is interested in helping out in any form. Thanks a bunch.

Missionary Cookies

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

So far, Sis. Hines only has 8 people committed to bring 20 individually-wrapped cookies for the missionaries tonight.  She was asked to find 20 volunteers.  That's 12 more!

Both Sis. Hines and I have been baking cookies ourselves to make up the difference, but we need your help.

If there is anyone else out there who would be willing bake 20 individually-wrapped cookies to be dropped off at the church tonight at 7 p.m., we would GREATLY appreciate it!

Thanks!

Sis. Jennifer Graham

Orlando Temple Hours for December

Since the Orlando Florida Temple opened in 1994, we have been closed the last two weeks of December.  The schedule is different this year.

We are concerned that members will assume we are closed the last two weeks of December.  Therefore, would you be so kind as to have your bishops and branch presidents announce and/or  print the schedule in the bulletin.
